He spent his life around food – travelling around the world and trying to make a real change for the better. As an SUS board member, he also spends time helping individuals with special needs to live with dignity in the community and attain personal fulfillment.

After moving from shelter to shelter, this U.S. Marine Corps Veteran eventually transferred to SUS’ Knickerbocker residence.
"A lot of the guests that come here have experienced depression and loneliness. I've experienced those things, and I've gotten through those feelings."

After a year in the SUS program, Abraham became a star on a local basketball team and excelled in all areas of physical and scholastic development. Our career counselors helped him find a job as a messenger, and he worked his way up to become supervisor.

SUS helped him to find an apartment and to take classes in remedial math and public speaking.
